New Work on Exhibit in Kansas City

Dazzled on Exhibit in Kansas City, Kansas
One of Rick’s landscape photographs from Zion National Park titled Dazzled will be featured in a juried art exhibit in Kansas City, Kansas. The fine art exhibition, which runs April 3-June 14, 2015 will be held in Art at the Center located at 1902 Lowell Avenue in Overland Park, Kansas.

This annual juried art exhibition began in 1979. Art at the Center is a unique midwest gallery space showcasing the work of artists from across the U.S. This exhibition includes photography, paintings, mixed media, pastels, sculpture and ceramics.

The opening reception on April 3 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. is open to the public and light refreshments will be served. For the remainder of the show, all works will be on display Monday through Friday 5:30 a.m.-10 p.m., Saturdays 7 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sundays 10 a.m.-8 p.m. If you are in the Kansas City area, I hope you will find time during the exhibit to stop by, view Dazzled and enjoy the artworks of many talented artists from around the country.

  1. Stunning photo with colors and contrasts that highlight the wondrous beauty of nature, Rick. An exquisite choice of title and contribution to the art exhibit.

    1. “Aaniin” Carol. I am humbled by your words and honored by your visit, native sister. Nature is filled with such vast beauty and perfection to constanty delight the eyes and the heart in all beings, isn’t she. And for me it is always such a joy to share that beauty with others. 2. How wonderful, Rick!

I wish I could stop by, continue to admire this picture in big and say”Hi”!

    Much love,

    1. Hi Steffi. Oh I wish you and Kim could stop by too. And hopefully someday your travels will bring you both to the States so we can meet in person. Sending warm and happy wishes to you both. Rick

  3. What a marvelous selection for the exhibit, though I imagine it would be hard to choose from your impressive collection. The lighting in this one is simply stunning.

    1. Oh those choice of which photos to propose for an exhibit are always difficult Gunta. And I think nature keeps getting more and more beautiful over the years because I feel like making those decisions are even harder recently. Of course, if you have to have a challenge, it is one of the most delightful challenges to have. ~Rick

  4. What a stunning photo to be featured! And what an exciting exhibit to take in. If I still lived in Nebraska a trip to visit the Art at the Center would be doable, but I’m afraid Oklahoma is just too far for a day trip. Rats! 🙂

    1. I’m delighted as can be that you enjoy this image Lori. It was one of the most colorful (and coldest!) sunrises I can ever remember experiencing and nature painted the landscape with those amazing colors for only about 30 seconds before they disappeared. I sure understand about not wanting to jump in the car and head to Kansas from Oklahoma. So, I guess I’d better start looking for some places closer to home to exhibit. I’ll see what I can do! ~Rick

  5. What a great selection for the exhibit Rick, although any one of your photos are exhibit worthy imho. 🙂 Congratulations!

    1. Thanks so much LuAnn. And by the way, I LOVE your humble opinion. 🙂 Rick

    1. Many thanks Lor.

  6. Congratulations, Rick. Your work deserves to be recognized, as does its creator.

    1. Oh wow Jim, thanks so much for this delightful comment. It’s a joy to know you and I wish you a happy holiday weekend. ~Rick

  7. What a stunning piece Rick and an exciting exhibition to be part of. No more than you deserve my friend. A painting could not capture what you have captured here….the colours are spellbinding and ethereal. Hugs and love flowing to you. Xx

    1. Well Jane, I have to give lots of the credit to Nature and Mother Earth. They are my partners in all the landscape images I create and we’ve worked together for so long that I think they continue to smile and radiate light even more as the years go by. And this image is a good example. So on behalf of the three of us, many many thanks. We are all delighted as can be that you can see deeply into the essence, energy and spirit of that moment in time. { } ~Rick

  8. Kudos, Rick, on having yet another of your very special photographs selected for display! What a special image! I know you give full credit to Mother Earth, which is as it should be, but not all of us have the opportunity to behold everything She has to show. A few individual spirits have been provided the talent to help us see some of Her beauty. Thank you for sharing your gifts!

    1. My sincere thanks for the good wishes Wally and, more importantly, for that beautiful comment on Spirit since it is so important in my culture and all those subjects in Nature who allow me to photograph them. Plus, it is also something I see often with great delight when I view your own photography. Thanks my friend. ~Rick

  9. Hi, Rick, I was lucky enough to see this gorgeous photo in person after the opening. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to come to the opening to visit with you. The photo is certainly appropriately named. It does dazzle! I’m putting the show on my calendar for next year and making sure no one else makes a claim on that date!

    1. I’m delighted as can be that you had the chance to visit the exhibit and see Dazzled Cathy. Sorry too that I missed the chance to see you again but I definitely understand having to juggle travel and work schedule dates with other things we’d like to do equally as much. (For example, although I love replying to blog comments daily, I’ve been away on an art project which is why it’s taken me 3 days to reply! Sorry for that.) I hope to be back there in June or July and maybe we can enjoy another coffee together. ~Rick
