Photographer's note: The sweeping, graceful sand dunes at White Sands National Monument are unlike any others I've seen. On this shoot, I wanted to honor that beauty with images that would show the magic of these dunes not normally seen in popular photographs of the area. I received permission from the Department of the Interior to enter 2-hours before sunrise for photographing. A hike of several miles across isolated dunes and gullies was made easier by a full moon that reflected off the sand. This image taken with an exposure of 2 minutes reveals the soft graceful shapes and patterns that make this location so beautiful and at the same time, almost unearthly.

* The image is printed in a 12"x18" size on archival quality Semi-gloss photo paper using ChromaLife 100 archival pigment inks. After a drying time of 24 hours, the print is mounted on acid-free foam board and overmatted with white 100% rag (archival) mat board.
