Photographer's note: I spent many hours over a 3-day period with a small herd of horses near Jackson Lake. The temperatures were often well below freezing with occasional snow showers. Late in the day I found this horse sitting on the warm ground, gazing at it’s reflection in the pond, and lit by the last light of the day. Just moments after I captured this image the sun fell below the horizon and darkness fell.
